Follow Friday: Miniature Inspirations
Today’s feature is the very sweet and talented Maggie of Miniature Inspirations. I first met Maggie at Nekocon a few years ago and loved her unique creations! She needle-felts the cutest little creatures you’ve ever seen. In addition to her work, Maggie is also an amazing model and cosplayer! Learn more about this artist with our mini interview:
Mini Interview with Miniature Inspirations:
Describe your work in five words.
Needle felted soft fiber sculptures.
Is there a story behind your business name?
I wanted people to see my small scale sculptures and be inspired by them!
Where do you find inspiration?
I find inspiration in nature and from animals. I love sculpting animals and designing fantastical creatures of my own to transfer into soft sculpture form.
What’s your studio playlist?
I enjoy listening to Yiruma, Taylor Swift and Cristofori’s Dream while I work :3
Where is your studio?
I use the office in my house as my studio. I ship my orders from the same desk where I create my sculptures.
How do you get yourself out of a creative rut?
When I am in a creative rut, I usually stop, take a break and do something that is not work related and that makes me happy. That usually helps me balance.
Who do you really admire?
I really admire the famous Ghibli director Hayao Miyazaki. His leadership and films that he directed are inspirational to me, and are stories that I will always adore.
