Launch Day!!

I’m so excited for the debut of Mushybuns today. To me, they're the perfect example of the weird way my brain works; every time I’m going through extreme difficulties in life, I come up with the funniest doll designs! I think Mushybuns takes the cake in that department! 😂

The difficulty in question:

Someone reported my Shopify shop as reselling branded items and infringing on trademarks. So Shopify locked my funds and threatened to shut down my entire store, even though no legal documentation was ever sent to me, and I've never used any trademarks on my shop. This was literally just a troll doing this!! But Shopify answers only to their banking partners, so my shop remained under review for almost two weeks…

This was so stressful and heart-wrenching to go through, since I put so much work into that shop for almost ten years. Once I posted publicly about it, so many other artist friends came forward who had gone through this. I feel so badly for anyone who’s dealt with this!

Starting from Scratch

I couldn’t handle the waiting game with Shopify any longer to see if they were going to shut down my shop or not. So, I had to start from Square One again. This entire week, I worked nonstop on building a new website and transferring everything over from my Shopify shop. What really breaks my heart is I have no way of transferring all of my product ratings and customer reward points. Years and years of accumulation… gone. Fortunately, I do have a .csv of my customers’ points, so I think I'll have to send out coupons to any who have them stored up.

So that’s the story! And now I'm here on Squarespace. So far I'm liking the new shop experience, since SQS seems to have more set up for artists and small biz. That’s definitely a silver lining :)

And of course, in the midst of the turmoil, Mushybuns was born!! The shop launch goes Live today, Friday September 1st, at 3pm (EST). I would really love your input on what you think of the new shop and any changes/additions you’d like to see!
