Inspiration Found

cityOn Monday evening of this week, we arrived home after a glorious weekend at New York Comic Con. I enjoyed all of the panels we attended, the amazingly talented artists in Artist Alley, and the fantastic Creatives in the Dealer's Room. I think some of my most exciting moments were seeing other Makers flourishing in the Dealer's Room. I would love to be on their level someday. NYCC inspired me and showed me my goals. I actually got to meet several successful artists and designers, and I was over the moon during those moments. I also attended a panel about designer toys, with Kozik and Kidrobot present among others. It took every fiber of my being to pretend I was calm, when I was in fact ready to bounce off the walls out of excitement. I love successful toymakers and designers. Love 'em!! I think it is extremely cool to stick with your dreams and actually become successful doing what you love. It's such a rarity to achieve something like that, and I have so much respect for people who "make it". I'm not chasing fame or riches, but I would simply love it if my designer toy business was enough to sustain me so that I can be financially independent. Since I make all of my items by hand, I'm not sure if that's an achievable goal, but we'll see. I'm not giving up just yet.
